About Us

Royal is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems to support an extensive construction program at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mobile District Construction Division located at Redstone Arsenal, AL. This is a non-design role focused on installation oversight, contractor coordination, and quality assurance. The assignment will last one year (base) with two optional years, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact federal construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review HVAC plans and specifications to understand design intent.
• Conduct on-site inspections of HVAC installations to verify compliance with drawings, codes, and best practices.
• Monitor contractor work for quality, safety, and adherence to schedule.
• Identify and resolve installation issues in collaboration with contractors and project managers.
• Participate in system testing, commissioning, and performance verification.
• Maintain detailed documentation of inspections, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
  

Qualificaitons

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in HVAC systems, preferably in construction or field engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of HVAC components, installation practices, and building codes.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in inspection documentation and reporting.
• OSHA certification or familiarity with construction safety practices is a plus.
