Body Technician – Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Body Technician to join our team. In this role, you will repair and restore damaged vehicle bodies and parts to manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and works well in a fast‑paced environment.

• Perform body repairs on vehicles, including dent removal, panel replacement, and frame straightening
• Conduct tear-down and reassembly of damaged vehicles
• Repair and refinish body surfaces using proper sanding, filling, and painting techniques
• Follow repair orders and document all work performed
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Work collaboratively with estimators, painters, and other technicians
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Use proper tools, equipment, and safety gear at all times
• Stay current on industry repair methods and best practices

• Previous experience as an Automotive Body Technician preferred
• Strong understanding of vehicle structures, bodywork, and repair methods
• Ability to operate welding equipment, frame machines, and power tools
• Knowledge of OEM procedures and I-CAR standards (I-CAR certification a plus)
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple repair orders
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Prolonged standing, bending, and manual labor
• Ability to work in varying temperatures

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
