Job Description for Bio-Compliance Tech

-Follow all Pilgrim’s Biosecurity and Animal Welfare programs.

-Supervise the pullet crew during vaccinations and moves to insure vaccine is administered correctly, birds are handled properly, and accurate bird counts are obtained. Provide the pullet crew with the vaccine that is needed for the scheduled working.

-Assist with pullet moves to include spotting equipment prior to the move and driving a loader to load birds on trailers at the pullet farm and/or unload birds on the breeder farm when they are moved.

-Collect blood samples, fat samples, and swab samples from birds according to the Pilgrim’s Breeder Monitoring Program. Submit samples along with required paperwork to the State Diagnostic Lab.

-Clean and disinfect trailers and cages between moves. Make repairs to any cages that are damaged.

-Weigh birds according to the Pilgrim’s Breeder Program.

-Assist in placing chicks on pullet farms.

-Monitor and maintain rat bait stations on pullet and breeder farms.

-Deliver supplies to pullet and breeder farms.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· High School or GED required

· Class D drivers license

· Ability to work in a dusty environment

· Desire to obtain CDL not required but highly preferred

· Ability to lift 50 pounds
