You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note on Experience: Your resume must clearly document the following for each block of work experience; the beginning day, month and year the work assignment started and ended; the hours worked per week; position title, and series and grade if applicable; and description of duties performed. This information must be provided for each permanent, temporary or seasonal appointment/work assignment or volunteer work and should be clearly documented as a separate block of time. Incomplete, inaccurate or conflicting work history may not be credited for qualifications purposes. This can result in an applicant not being considered for the position. Specialized Experience Requirement: GS-12: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: Providing advice and counsel to higher-level fire management on incident business management administrative issues to include appropriation use, personnel/payroll, cost management, fire acquisition, and fire claims; and/or Evaluating the effectiveness of incident business related trainings and making recommendations to improve course materials and delivery; and/or Preparing program-related correspondence, reports, and other written materials regarding incident business and fire programs, policies, and operations; and/or Coordinating with federal, state, local government, and private industry to manage wildland fire related agreements and ensure they are current, properly utilized, appropriate, and necessary; and/or Monitoring agreements and ensuring incident payments and billings are completed and consistent with agreements. GS-13: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as four or more of the following: Developing guidance, processes, and procedures related to incident (such as wildland fire, hurricane, flood, earthquake recovery) business management; and/or Providing expert advice to supervisors and fire management staff and units on incident business management activities; and/or Resolving substantive problems affecting the efficiency of incident business operations; and/or Directing and conducting reviews of the effectiveness of financial management and other business management practices for the fire program; and/or Serving as the primary advisor and technical resource to officials on cooperative fire agreements. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement. This position serves as a member of the fire, fuels, and aviation programs staff.
