Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Support students with unique learning needs in a dynamic elementary school environment in Montgomery, AL. This onsite paraprofessional opportunity involves working closely with students in specialized language units and one-to-one settings, primarily supporting children with moderate to severe behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in classrooms serving students with significant language disorders, learning disabilities, and speech-language impairments.
• Provide one-on-one support to students exhibiting moderate to severe behaviors such as eloping, biting, screaming, and kicking.
• Implement behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Support toileting and other personal care needs as required.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create and maintain tailored instructional plans.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 48 college credit hours or equivalent.
• Experience working with children on the autism spectrum, particularly those with moderate to severe behaviors.
• Proficient in behavior intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to pass state fingerprinting requirements.
• Comfortable providing personal care including toileting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Position Details:

• Located in Montgomery, AL.
• Contract assignment through May 22, 2026.
• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
