Location: Prattville, AL
Duration: One month, scheduled commissioning from October 23rd to November 21st. Change possible.
We're looking for a hands-on Commissioning Controls Engineer / Specialist to lead the commissioning and startup of industrial automation systems across manufacturing sectors. This role focuses on onsite system validation , including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform onsite commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of control systems
- Lead I/O checks, PLC/HMI testing, motor/VFD validation, and network diagnostics
- Support FAT/SAT testing and ensure full system functionality pre-handover
- Interpret control schematics, P&IDs, and electrical drawings
- Work with project teams to resolve field issues during commissioning
Requirements
- 3+ years in control system commissioning or startup
- Strong PLC/HMI troubleshooting skills (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet)
