Town of Florence - Custodian
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs custodial work of routine difficulty at various Town facilities including administrative offices, public areas, and recreational buildings.
SUPERVISION:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performs routine custodial work in municipal buildings and facilities.
- Clean, sweep, mop, scrub, polish, dusts, wax, shampoo and vacuum Town facilities, including staff restrooms and public restrooms.
- Empty trash, recycling, and garbage containers.
- Wash and clean windows, doors, fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
- Clean debris from facility grounds and parking lots; wash and sweep walkways, concrete, and asphalt areas.
- Arranges furnishings and equipment to prepare facilities for meetings and special events.
- Maintains supplies and equipment to ensure facilities are properly supplied.
- May replace light bulbs, tubes and perform other light maintenance activities.
- May prepare and maintain reports, logs, or records.
- Identify repair work and makes notification.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or GED equivalent, supplemented by one (1) year of experience in custodial and/or facility maintenance; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have and maintain a valid State of Arizona Driver's license.

Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment for custodial and general facility maintenance tasks.
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Ability to work evening shifts and other hours for special events.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrates a positive, courteous and helpful attitude, customer service and team player oriented.
- Performs manual labor including heavy lifting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Employee may be required to carry, push/pull objects and materials up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and manual dexterity in combination with eye/hand coordination.
Town has multiple work sites and individual will be required to drive between these work sites.

**Pay Details:** $16.58 per hour
