Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and maintaining accurate inventory levels to support efficient production and distribution operations. This role ensures proper handling, storage, and movement of materials while working closely with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to prevent shortages, overages, and discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/WMS systems.
Perform regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations to verify stock accuracy.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure materials are available as needed.
Track product movements and update inventory transactions (receiving, transfers, returns, adjustments).
Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Implement inventory control best practices to reduce waste, shrinkage, and obsolescence.
Support physical inventory counts and audits, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Maintain organization and labeling of stock areas for efficiency and safety.
Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or supply chain role.
Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Knowledge of ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite, etc.) a plus.
Forklift certification or material handling experience may be required (depending on role).
Work Environment:
Warehouse/production facility setting.
May require standing, walking, or lifting up to 50 lbs.
