Job Summary

Th e Sales & Use Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting transaction tax compliance activities, ensuring accurate and timely filing of sales and use tax returns. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work with large datasets to maintain compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

Job Description

• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Collect, organize, and validate accounting and tax data to ensure compliance
  
• Research applicable tax laws and regulations to support compliance efforts
  
• Assist in interpreting tax requirements and providing guidance to internal stakeholders
  
• Support sales tax audits by preparing documentation and resolving discrepancies
• Reconcile tax accounts and investigate variances to ensure accurate reporting
  
• Utilize Vertex software to support tax calculations, reporting, and filings
• Maintain accurate and organized records of tax filings and audit documentation
  
• Provide data gathering and analysis support for recurring compliance activities
  
• Assist with various indirect tax projects and process improvements
• Shift: 9AM - 5PM EST

Skills Required

• 1–3 years of experience in tax compliance, accounting, or a related area
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, data analysis, formulas)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to research, interpret, and apply tax laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with sales and use tax audits
• Experience reconciling tax accounts
• Familiarity with Vertex tax software
• Exposure to indirect tax processes in a corporate environment

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field

Pay Rate

• $39 - $49 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
