Wiring Assembler
Job Description
Core Responsibilities.
- Perform wiring of LV and MV switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, and control cabinets in accordance with engineering documentation.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, point-to-point diagrams, interconnection drawings, and BOMs.
- Install, route, terminate, and label wires according to standard UL/ANSI/NEC requirements, and customer specifications.
- Use appropriate tools and methods to ensure wiring accuracy, bundling, cable management, grounding, insulation, and crimping quality.
- Assemble control components including relays, CPTs, terminal blocks, breakers, switches, heaters, contactors, and protective relays.
- Verify wiring continuity, polarity, and correctness before handing units to the testing team.
- Identify discrepancies in drawings or materials and escalate issues to Engineering or Supervisors.
- Maintain neat, organized, and compliant wiring layouts consistent with best practices (including maintaining wire loops, bend radius, and segregation).
- Follow all safety procedures, including electrical safety, PPE, and 5S standards.
- Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to reduce waste and increase productivity.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience wiring LV or MV electrical equipment (switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, control cabinets, or industrial automation systems).
- Experience terminating wires using ferrules, lugs, crimps, and industrial connectors.
- Familiarity with UL, ANSI, and NEC requirements related to industrial electrical assemblies.
- Ability to use hand tools, torque tools, crimpers, and wire preparation equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, safety orientation, and quality mindset.
- Ability to read engineering notes, change orders, and revision-controlled drawings.
- Proven ability to interpret and work from:
- Wiring diagrams
- Electrical schematics
- Single-line diagrams
- Bills of materials (BOMs)
- Point-to-point wire lists
