Job Description
Creature is seeking a Financial Controller to lead enterprise-level accounting and reporting operations. This is a strategic leadership role focused on driving financial clarity, margin reliability, and system integration across our platform. Youll build the tools, processes, and team required to support aggressive growthwhile ensuring that every number tells the truth and drives the right action.

This role reports directly to the COO and collaborates closely with Preconstruction, Project Management, and Field Operations. Youll serve as the financial engine behind our executiontranslating project realities into accurate job costing, overseeing our ERP architecture (Sage + Trimble), and ensuring seamless data sync with Procore.

Role Expectations

• Lead all financial reporting, month-end close, and compliance processes with speed, clarity, and accuracy.
• Manage all AP/AR functions, job cost reporting, and project performance tracking.
• Own the structure and performance of our accounting systems across Sage 300, Trimble Construction One, and Procore.
• Deliver timely, GAAP-compliant statements and drive continuous improvement in reporting cadence and quality.
• Build budgeting models and forecasting tools aligned with Creatures growth strategy and project workflows.
• Develop a high-performing finance teamfocused on accountability, responsiveness, and platform enablement.
• Ensure every project is accurately costed, every hour is correctly coded, and every report reflects operational reality.
• Partner with the COO to support board-level reporting, capital strategy, and growth planning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years as a Financial Controller within a construction or project-based business.
• Deep experience with Sage 300, Trimble ERP, and Procore integration.
• Significant experience with PowerBI
• Proven track record in job costing, margin control, and cross-functional financial leadership.
• Strong grasp of project financials, cash flow management, and accounting compliance.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and systems thinking capabilities.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
