Entry-Level Cable Technician

Looking to break into the technology and infrastructure field? This is a great opportunity to learn a skilled trade from the ground up while working on large-scale data center projects .
Our client is actively hiring Entry-Level Cable Technicians to support the buildout of critical data center infrastructure. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and team leads, gaining hands-on training in structured cabling, fiber optics, and server rack installation. No prior data center experience is required— just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn .
What You’ll Be Doing
- Learn structured cabling in a real-world data center environment
- Assist senior technicians with installing and routing copper and fiber cables
- Pull cable through walls, ceilings, and pathways using trays, J-hooks, and other support systems
- Help install cable trays, pathways, and server racks
- Learn color codes, labeling standards, and cable organization best practices
- Gain exposure to fiber termination, punch-downs, and low-voltage device installation
- Follow blueprints and project drawings
- Support grounding and fire-stopping installations
- Complete basic project paperwork and timesheets
- Work as part of a team that values safety, quality, and professionalism

What We’re Looking For
- Entry-level candidates or individuals looking to transition into a technical trade

- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Comfortable with flexible hours when projects require it
- (Some weeks may include 10–12 hour days and occasional Saturdays)
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Exposure to:
- Structured cabling
- Cat5 / Cat6 cable
- Cable pulling or installation
- Construction, electrical, or low-voltage experience is a plus—but not mandatory

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgeport, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
