We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and the ability to manage high-volume tasks effectively. The position is based in Birmingham NT, Alabama, with the flexibility to work remotely most days. This role offers hybrid work flexibility. Candidates MUST be commutable to the Birmingham area, because one day of on-site work will be required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional support to both internal and external customers, ensuring inquiries and requests are handled promptly.

• Manage unapplied cash and reconcile accounts, maintaining accuracy in financial records.

• Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and organizational goals.

• Communicate with underwriters and other stakeholders to resolve payment issues and provide necessary account information.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to sort and analyze account balances, exporting data from internal systems.

• Stay organized by maintaining detailed notes and tracking updates on assigned accounts.

• Adapt quickly to new challenges and tasks that arise daily.

• Process requests for invoices, account breakdowns, and payment instructions with precision.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of customer concerns.

• Learn and apply insurance-related terms and processes efficiently to support job functions.

• Proven experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting function.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting and analyzing data.
• Familiarity with accounting software systems, CRM, and ERP platforms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers, underwriters, and team members.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to remote work settings.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in financial reconciliation.
• Experience handling cash activity and billing functions is preferred.
