North American Construction Services, Ltd. is hiring a Full-Time Estimator to join our team in Birmingham, AL.

North American Construction Services (HQ: Pinson/Birmingham, AL) is a dynamic subsidiary of Fives North American Combustion (HQ: Cleveland) and the renowned Fives Group (HQ: Paris). At Fives, we all have a part to play in achieving our common mission. Your role will be:

• Communication with sales and engineering regarding proposed projects and the scope of projects.
• Understand the scope of work to estimate the project accurately. This may include possible travel to customer site locations to gather first-hand information.
• Review and prepare detailed estimates using external and internal RFQ documents and specifications.
• Research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
• Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors and vendors.
• Generate BOM requirements.
• Generate equipment requirements and costs for project execution.
• Generate proposal documents and project timelines.
• Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).
• Ensure timely completion of estimates.
• Create and submit proposals.
• Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons.
• Utilize NACS’s business procedures.

• 5+ years’ experience as an estimator in a project-based organization.
• Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
• Deep knowledge of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.
• Comfortable with numbers and technology.
• Excellent knowledge of construction-based software.
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Project Management background.
• BS/BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant field.
