As the Software Tester, you will provide testing support to one of our USAF customers. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on our military defense.

Serco supports the USAF as a Prime for their NexGen IT contract. Serco supports the Air Force (AF) Civil Engineering (CE) community NexGen IT initiative’s implementation of IBM TRIRIGA is the largest in the world. Serco manages all aspects of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) for the NexGen IT program including requirements definition, development, testing, upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting and supports all infrastructure for the installations.

You will be part of a large team that works closely with the customers, end users, and other Serco teams to deliver quality software testing and automation tasks. The team has been recognized by the USAF and industry for their outstanding contributions to the program.

In This Role, You Will

  • Participate in our agile process by being an active contributor in daily standups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Work effectively, independently as well as part of a large diverse team.
  • Develop, document, and execute test cases, test scenarios, testing plans and procedures in an agile environment. Must be well versed with defect management concepts and processes.
  • Experience developing unit, integration, and functional tests
  • Provide manual and regression testing in support of the NexGen IT systems. Verifies information and data persistence and evaluates results to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail, a love of technology, and a desire to solve problems
  • Adept communicator; verbal and written
  • Quick to notice improvements or defects often missed by others
  • Work with software developers to address and resolve bugs/issues
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Peer review of test cases, provide feedback and updates as needed
  • Build an understanding of the functionality of the system and the requirements within the user stories
  • Assist in preparing test deliverables
  • Assist, as needed, in other functional areas of the project including training and analysis
  • Ensure new applications and software modifications meet requirements and operate satisfactorily in the system environment. Document the success and failures of all executed test procedures in TM4J.
  • Experience working closely with software developers to verify functionality is being implemented per specifications
  • Experience with automated testing (Optional)

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • A High school Diploma/GED and 6 years of experience with software product quality assurance; including, but not limited to manual testing, writing test plans, regression testing, documenting steps to reproduce, submitting bugs, and documenting issues
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science and 4 years of experience
  • Practical knowledge in manual and automated testing, Unit, regression, and integration testing.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to deal effectively and confidently with people at all levels of responsibilities, authority, and rank.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and administrative skills and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to facilitate and coordinate efforts with key government and non-government stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain a NACI
  • Travel up to 10% Locally
Additional Desired Experience And Skills

  • Knowledge of Air Force Civil Engineers Community.
  • Knowledge of TRIRIGA IWMS software.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Zephyr Scale (TM4J).
  • Experience working with federal government programs, particularly DoD
