Job Type: Contract to Hire
Pay: $24 to $28 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

• Installation of network components such as switches, routers, patch panels, and other hardware that form the backbone of the data center's network.
• Set up fiber and copper cabling within the data center’s server racks and network distribution points.
• Use specialized tools like OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer), power meters, and network analyzers to test the integrity, performance, and quality of fiber optic and copper connections.
• Identify and resolve network issues such as signal degradation, latency, or connectivity failures in a timely manner.
• Cable Management and Organization:
• Ensure neat, organized, and secure routing of fiber optic cables and other networking equipment within the data center to prevent damage and interference.
• Maintain proper cable labeling, documentation, and cable trays to streamline maintenance and reduce downtime during troubleshooting.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fiber optic installation to extend the lifespan of critical infrastructure.
• Inspect cables, connectors, and switches for wear and tear, and replace or repair damaged components.
• Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other data center teams to ensure smooth integration of new hardware.
• Assist in the deployment of new services and expansion of the data center’s network infrastructure.
• Adhere to safety protocols when handling fiber optics, high-voltage equipment, and network hardware.

Qualifications:

• Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency
• Three (3) years minimum of data center experience
• Must possess at least two (2) active industry certifications
• Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Must meet Company minimum driving standards

Physical Requirements:

• Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s)
• Must promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners
• 3+ years working in data centers, operations or related technical field
• General knowledge of server/network equipment and software support configurations
• Intermediate understanding of AC/DC power principles, data center power distribution and data center best practices
• Strong aptitude for independent working environment and high productivity rate
• Must be able to act as the company liaison for interface with customer representative(s)
• Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s)
• Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
• Regular attendance is mandatory

Pay Transparency
The anticipated salary range for this position is $24 to $28 Per Hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
