The position of the Church Administrator/Secretary is a very special ministry and very important in a church setting. This person reports directly to the Pastor and will perform clerical and administrative functions in order to represent the church in a positive manner.
Position Responsibilities, But Are Not Limited To:
- Receptionist -a) Telephone present positive, warm image; screen calls and take messages. b) Drop-ins - screen according to schedule of Pastor.
- Maintain and organize Church Administrator/Secretary Office.
- Order and inventory supplies and equipment.
- Draft correspondences and other formal documents
- Plan and schedule appointments and events
- Greet and assist onsite guests.
- Answer inbound telephone calls.
- Prepare and print all documents needed for Sunday worship including bulletins.
- Notify Pastoral Staff of member hospitalizations, deaths, etc.
- Perform any other administrative tasks that are assigned.
- Ability to work 20 hours per week from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday - Thursday.
Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent with work-related experience
- Previous experience in office administration or other related fields
- Proficency in the use of standard microsoft office tools (computer and keyboard)
- Proficiency in the use of multi-function copier
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- ​Strong organizational skills
- Should be ever conscious of the need for confidentiality concerning financial records, counseling situations, personnel matters, and health matters, etc. of congregational participants which should be kept private unless given authorization to disclose.
