BARISTA - FRONT END ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION
Canadan Bakin is looking for a creative, team-oriented Barista/Front End Associate to greet, take orders, and prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea.
Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks and bread menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, latest specials, and relevant menu items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should prioritize exceptional customer experience and have knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should also be able to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends.
Ultimately, you’ll serve as representatives of Canadian Bakin to our customers and ensure an excellent dining and drinking experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet customers as they enter
• Give customers menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios, sandwich toppings, etc.)
• Prepare and serve beverages following recipes
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the bar area clean
• Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs to Team Lead or Manager
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate with bakers and prep cooks
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Requirements:

• Ability to remain level-headed and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow strict brew guidelines and recipes as directed and trained
• Ability to work under pressure during busy shifts or a rush, as well as interacting warmly with customers while working to complete a task
• Has a positive attitude and strives to work well with all team mates
• Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations
• Excellent communication skills
• High school diploma; relevant training is a plus
