We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Montgomery, Alabama. In this role, you will play a key part in managing project-related financial tasks, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This is a contract position with the possible extension.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project billing processes, including creating and reviewing invoices and ensuring accuracy in all financial documentation.

• Oversee job cost accounting and track project expenses to align with budgets.

• Post payments, process receipts, and reconcile accounts to maintain up-to-date financial records.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to schedules.

• Utilize accounting software and tools, such as Microsoft Excel, to perform data analysis and reporting tasks.

• Maintain organized records and documentation for all financial transactions related to projects.

• Contribute to process improvements and streamline accounting workflows as needed.

• A minimum of 3-10 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the architecture, engineering, or construction industries.

• Understanding of job cost accounting and project billing procedures.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

• Preferred, but not required experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, or Deltek

• Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with team members and clients.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required; relevant industry experience is essential.

• Ability to work on-site five days a week and adhere to a business casual dress code.
