Public Safety Dispatcher

Salary Range: ($43,474 - $65,212)
The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority is accepting applications for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher. Duties include operating multiple technology systems such as the multi-channel radio system, fire/life safety control system, access control system/badging software, automated emergency notification system, records management system, video management software, public address system, TTY/TDD and multi-line phone systems to disseminate information to appropriate personnel. Position is responsible for maintaining communication throughout emergency situations, including with field units and callers, local emergency and law enforcement departments, airport personnel, and air traffic control (ATC) tower. Activates the emergency recall plan when required.
A Two-Year Associates' Degree or Four-Year Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university is preferred . Previous dispatch experience and bi-lingual skills are preferred as well.. Applicant will need to have ability to be certified by the Alabama Department of Public Safety in National Crime Information Center (NCIC) operations within 6 months of employment and recertify every 2 years. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which will include working all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
