Position Summary:

The Outpatient Child Therapist provides individual, group, and/or family therapy to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, developmental, or mental health challenges. The therapist works collaboratively with caregivers, schools, and other community providers to support the child’s emotional well-being, promote resilience, and address symptoms interfering with daily functioning.

This role requires clinical knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and a compassionate, client-centered approach. Services may be delivered in-person or telehealth, within the clinic setting, depending on client and program needs.

  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and case consultations.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, schools, primary care providers, and other service systems to ensure integrated and coordinated care.
  • Respond to clinical crises with appropriate interventions and referrals as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards, including HIPAA and mandated reporting laws.
  • Participate in professional development, continuing education, and training opportunities to support growth and licensure.
  • Uphold all agency, state, and federal privacy and documentation regulations, including HIPAA and mandated reporting.
  • Assist with other clinical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field (required).
  • Current state licensure or license-eligible (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in clinical settings (preferred).
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected to a collaborative clinical team.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • This is an exempt, full-time position.
  • Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM CST
