Field Sales Representative - Facility Solutions
A growing infrastructure and facility services company is hiring a Field Sales Representative to develop owner-direct business across the Gulf Coast. This role is focused on building relationships with facility owners, operators, plant leaders, facility managers, and decision makers who need help solving building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire/life safety, security, automation, or operational technology challenges.
This is not a sit-behind-a-desk sales role. The right person is already comfortable in the field, understands how facilities work, and can recognize problems that turn into projects, service agreements, and long-term customer relationships.
Location: Gulf Coast territory, with focus around Mobile, AL and surrounding markets
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire
Base Pay: $40,000-$60,000, based on experience (Roughly $20-30/hr)
Commission: Commission opportunity included
Earnings Potential: Strong performers can earn $80,000-$120,000+ with commission, with higher earnings possible based on performance
Responsibilities
Build relationships with facility owners, operators, plant managers, facility directors, contractors, and decision makers.
Identify facility problems related to HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, fire/life safety, security, controls, automation, energy management, or infrastructure modernization.
Develop opportunities through field visits, networking, referrals, customer conversations, and direct outreach.
Work with internal technical and leadership teams to shape customer problems into practical project or service solutions.
Create new business opportunities instead of only waiting on inbound leads or bid work.
Maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects, active opportunities, proposals, follow-ups, and long-term customer relationships.
Sell solutions tied to facility performance, uptime, safety, compliance, comfort, efficiency, and operational reliability.
Represent the company professionally in the field and build credibility with technical and non-technical customers.
Support customer handoff, project scoping, follow-up, and relationship management after the sale.
Track activity, contacts, opportunities, and next steps.
Qualifications
Experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire/life safety, security, building automation, controls, facility services, construction, industrial services, or related field.
Sales experience is helpful but not required if the candidate is strongly sales-minded and comfortable building relationships.
Field service technician, military technical, facilities, operations, construction, or trades background may be considered if the person can communicate well and sell.
Strong understanding of how facility systems work and how building problems affect operations.
Ability to identify customer pain points and turn them into business opportunities.
Comfortable meeting new people, asking questions, following up, and developing relationships.
Strong communication, listening, and follow-through skills.
Self-motivated and comfortable building a territory.
Ability to work independently while partnering with technical teams.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally/regionally as needed.
