Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales team, with a focus on achieving revenue targets, expanding market share, and fostering strong client relationships within the multifamily renovation, reconstruction, and restoration industry. This role involves developing strategic sales plans, overseeing the sales estimation process, and ensuring the professional growth of the sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Strategic Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies tailored to the multifamily construction sector, aiming to meet and exceed revenue goals.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and potential areas for business growth.
- Target Setting: Establish clear sales targets and performance metrics for the sales team, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
2. Team Leadership & Development:
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Estimators, providing guidance and support to achieve individual and team sales objectives.
- Training Programs: Develop and implement training initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team, focusing on sales techniques, product knowledge, and industry best practices.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and implementing development plans to foster continuous improvement.
3. Client Relationship Management:
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve client concerns promptly, ensuring a positive client experience and maintaining the company's reputation.
4. Sales Process Oversight:
- Proposal Management: Oversee the preparation and submission of bids and proposals, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with client requirements.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with clients to secure profitable contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and risks are mitigated.
- Pipeline Management: Monitor and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities and timely progression through the sales cycle.
5. Collaboration & Communication:
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
- Reporting: Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, highlighting performance metrics, pipeline status, and strategic insights.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve sales processes and methodologies, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Professional Development: Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales management within the construction industry, preferably in multifamily renovation and restoration.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge in sales software and sales analytics tools.
- In-depth understanding of construction project estimation and bidding processes.
