Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Join a well-established 300-bed hospital in the Auburn/Opelika area as a Staff Pharmacist, supporting inpatient medication services with a focus on accuracy and patient safety. This contract opportunity offers a solid assignment of 13+ weeks with the possibility of a travel-to-hire arrangement. Immediate availability is preferred to help meet critical staffing needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform medication order verification and ensure accuracy of prescriptions
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy
- Provide clinical support and patient counseling as needed
- Utilize Cerner electronic health records for medication management
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and state regulations
- Assist with sterile compounding when applicable (experience a plus)
Qualifications:
- Active Alabama pharmacist license required
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and workflow
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar EHR systems preferred
- Ability to work varied day shifts, typically starting between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM and ending around 4:30 PM
- Availability Monday through Friday
