RN Director of Surgical Services | Southeast

A growing acute care hospital in the Southeast is seeking a strong, hands-on Director of Surgical Services to lead a high-volume perioperative program and play a key role in shaping the future of surgical care across the organization. This is for a leader who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys building strong clinical teams, and wants real influence over operations, culture, and physician engagement.

You will oversee:

• 15+ Operating Rooms
• Pre-Op and PACU
• Sterile Processing (SPD)
• Multiple high-acuity service lines including CV, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery
• Each department is supported by experienced supervisors, allowing the Director to focus on strategy, performance, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across surgical services with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
• Drive regulatory readiness, accreditation compliance, and continuous improvement
• Partner with surgeons, anesthesia, and executive leadership to optimize case flow and block utilization
• Build a strong culture of engagement, accountability, and professional development
• Oversee staffing models, budgeting, and operational performance metrics
• Champion service line growth and modernization initiatives

Qualifications:

• RN required
• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience or 7+ years of progressive clinical Surgical Services experience in lieu of Bachelor’s; Master’s preferred
• 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in Surgical Services, preferably in a similar-sized OR
• MUST have Director-level experience
