Position Summary

The mission of the Field Services Technician is to perform a variety of field activities in support of UST, Environmental, and Geotechnical services. These field activities include, but are not limited to, drill rig operations, groundwater sampling operations, and compliance testing.

The essential functions of the Technician are to:

1. Perform physical activities associated with drill rig operations and monitoring well installations.
2. Perform groundwater sampling activities under the supervision of senior technical personnel.
3. Perform physical activities associated with compliance testing.
4. Routinely operate construction machinery and drive company vehicles.
5. Perform field work in compliance with company safety policies.
6. Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. • High School Diploma/GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Willingness to travel overnight weekly

Skills:

• CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Basic familiarity with hand tools.
• Operate skid steering equipment to perform routine activities.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk, hear, sit climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work extended hours.

Environment:

• Predominantly in outside weather conditions
• Frequently works near moving machinery.
• Overnight travel is required.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• Noise level is often loud.
