What you'll bring:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) for the state
- Previous experience in Special Education settings, resource rooms, or self-contained classrooms
- Strong classroom management skills and a passion for inclusive education
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility, adaptability, and collaborative spirit
In this role, you will:
- Design and deliver tailored instruction for students with a range of learning needs
- Assess student abilities, develop appropriate goals, and regularly monitor progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Maintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster a positive, respectful classroom that encourages engagement and growth
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team problem-solving
