Electrician II
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring;
- Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components;
- Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards;
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning;
- Prepare, bend conduit and pull wires;
- Complete required documentation of repairs and service information;
- Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts;
- Calibrate equipment to provided specifications;
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components;
- Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs;
- Perform maintenance on IT Networks;
- Operates a variety of equipment to include fork trucks, cranes and other powered equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment;
- Troubleshoot robotic systems and equipment;
- Read and work with Programmable Logic Controllers;
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
- Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems.
- Strength - Employee will lift, push, pull and carry up to 50lbs;
- Motion - Employee be stand, kneel, squat and climb for the majority of the day. Employee must be comfortable working from ladders, scaffolds and roofs. Employee maybe required to dig trenches and work from tight restricted spots.
- Vision/Hearing Requirements - Must be capable of reading schematics and blueprints. Employee will be exposed to loud noises and machinery.
- Employee will spend a majority of his/her time indoors but can spend significant time outdoors. Most facilities are not environmentally controlled and will subject the employee to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. If outdoors could include snow and rain.
- Employee maybe exposed to hazardous chemicals and/or hazardous material. The work environment can be oily and dirty.
- Emotional Demands - Employee expected to make quick decisions and troubleshooting on equipment and facilities to facilitate operations, especially during power outages and failures.
- Safety - This is a safety sensitive position. The position requires work around live circuits, rail tracks, machinery and moving equipment. This position requires the use of all required personal protective equipment such as hearing, head, eye, and foot protection.
- 2-5 years of experience
- Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams;
- Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems
- Apprenticeship or Technical/Vocational Degree preferred but not required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Apprenticeship or Technical/Vocational Degree preferred but not required.
