Position Description

The primary purpose of the Energy Plant Operator’s position is to perform all assigned process tasks, including but not limited to,
the safe operation of all Energy Plant equipment and controls. Additionally, the operator will be required to perform basic, routine
equipment maintenance and cleaning on all machinery and workspaces in the assigned area of responsibility. The operator will be
required to understand and manipulate computer software related to the management of Energy Plant operations. The operator will
also be required to identify conditions in the process or equipment which may lead to substandard production levels and initiate the
proper corrective action. Further duties include assisting maintenance personnel in the troubleshooting, repair, or preventive
maintenance of equipment.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Operations
• - Follow standard operating procedures for start-up, operation, and shutdown of all Energy Plant equipment.
• - Meet or exceed quality and productivity measurements to achieve optimum combustion levels.
• - Maximize the use of wood dust and waste to fuel the wood-fired Energy Plants.
• - Assist in providing job coverage during absences.
• - Bleed the Energy Plant system as necessary.
• - Conduct shift change procedures at the end of each shift with the oncoming operator.
• Maintenance & Cleaning
• - Perform routine mechanical and quality inspections including the thermal oil circuit, fire suppression, and feed water system.
• - Assist in installation and improvement of new/existing equipment and systems.
• - Perform or assist with preventive maintenance and repairs as scheduled.
• - Conduct filter changes on the thermal oil system.
• - Maintain proper housekeeping within the work area.
• Clerical
• - Complete all required safety, quality, and production documentation including a shift log listing adjustments and occurrences.
• Other
• - Collaborate with team members and leadership to identify and correct safety hazards, quality issues, and cost improvements.
• - Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or leadership.

Requirements

Working Experience: 1–3 years in a composite or wood panel production site
Foreign Languages: Basic (A1–A2 level recommended)
IT Skills: Basic computer skills
Education: High school graduate or equivalent

Other Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend technical work instructions
- Operate or learn to operate heavy machinery, front-end loaders, and forklifts
- Work with electric, pneumatic, or hand tools
- Collaborate effectively with team members
- Work independently without constant supervision
- Problem-solving skills (individually or as part of a group)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
