The Store Manager leads a community-focused tea and coffee shop, responsible for all aspects of its success. This role involves managing daily operations, leading a dedicated team, and championing an excellent customer experience. A key responsibility is cultivating a vibrant atmosphere for our weekly events and customer meetups by coordinating closely with our on-site Events and Catering managers to ensure all functions are seamless, successful, and reflect the Piper & Leaf spirit of Serve the Joy.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all daily store operations to ensure seamless production and service.
Lead, train, and manage store staff, including scheduling and performance feedback.
Ensure the team consistently delivers excellent customer service and maintains a positive store atmosphere.
Uphold all company standards for beverage preparation, quality, and presentation.
Manage store inventory, including ordering, stocking, and performing regular counts.
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and ensure accurate cash handling and reporting procedures are followed by all staff.
Enforce and adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Communicate effectively with staff and upper management regarding store performance, operational issues, and personnel matters.
Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally.

Detail-Oriented: You are highly organized and have a keen eye for maintaining store standards, from aesthetic details to inventory accuracy.

Team Leadership: Preferred 2 years of leadership experience, but not required.
Required proven ability to train, coach, and motivate a team to deliver exceptional customer service.
Store Operations: Proficiency in managing daily operations, including staff scheduling, inventory and cost control, cash handling, and daily financial reporting using POS systems.
Community Engagement: Experience or a strong passion for hosting events and acting as a positive brand ambassador within the local community.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with staff, customers, management, and other departments like Events and Catering.
Mobility: Ability to be on your feet, walking and standing, for extended shifts (typically 8+ hours).
Strength: Ability to safely and regularly lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Dexterity: Frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms is required for operating POS systems, coffee and tea brewing equipment, and performing cleaning duties. This includes reaching, turning, and precision work.
Environment: Ability to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to common food allergens (e.g., dairy, tree nuts), frequent temperature changes (from refrigerators to hot equipment), and moderate to loud noise levels.
Sensory: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in a potentially noisy environment. Requires the ability to distinguish differences in flavors and odors and have clear vision for both near and far tasks.
Safety: Ability to safely handle hot liquids, operate heated equipment, and work with standard cleaning chemicals.
