Exciting opportunity available for a passionate Special Education Teacher eager to make a lasting impact in a supportive school environment near Springville, AL! This contract role offers a meaningful way to help students reach their potential in a K-6 self-contained classroom setting. You’ll work a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, committing to 37.5 hours each week. The students you’ll serve present a variety of needs—including behavioral challenges—creating a dynamic and rewarding teaching experience.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience with K-6th grade students preferred
• Ability to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Collaborative spirit when working with colleagues and support staff
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Willingness to participate in district-provided MPS and de-escalation training

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a self-contained classroom
• Develop and implement effective IEPs to address academic and behavioral goals
• Utilize behavior management strategies to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with families, service providers, and school staff
• Record and monitor student progress, making data-informed instructional adjustments as needed
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
