Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and proven construction project management experience across commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of commercial construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets; monitor progress and implement corrective actions to meet milestones and financial targets.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure quality workmanship and timely delivery.
- Serve as the primary client and stakeholder contact; provide regular project updates, manage expectations, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Oversee change order management, contract administration, and cost control processes.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; proactively resolve issues to minimize impact on schedule and budget.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, and closeout manuals.
- Drive quality assurance and quality control activities on site and during inspections.
- Coordinate permitting, inspections, and third-party testing as required.
- Mentor and coach junior project staff; promote a collaborative, safety-first culture on job sites.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in construction with a focus on commercial projects. Demonstrated knowledge of Construction, Commercial, and Project Manager responsibilities is required.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience; experience managing multiple concurrent projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, reading drawings, specifications, and construction contracts.
- Proficiency with project management and construction software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and change order administration.
- Working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and OSHA safety standards; OSHA 30 preferred.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
