Construction Safety Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Safety Specialist to join our team in Mobile, AL, 36608. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees on our construction sites. Your expertise in safety regulations and proactive approach to risk management will help us maintain our commitment to safety excellence while fostering a culture of safety awareness among our workforce.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures tailored to construction activities.
• Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and equipment usage.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers and team leaders to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
• Stay updated on local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Assist in the preparation of safety reports and presentations for management and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction safety or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards applicable to construction.
• Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)

Salary info:

$28 - $32 / hr
