Assistant Warehouse Manager

Interior Exterior Building Supply, the number one commercial and residential building material supplier in the Southeast, is searching for an Assistant Warehouse Manager for our Athens, AL location!

We are looking for a hardworking, dependable Assistant Warehouse Manager to help lead daily warehouse operations for our business. This is a hands-on leadership role—not a desk job. The right person will work side by side with the crew, help keep inventory accurate, keep trucks moving, and make sure the warehouse stays organized and running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform daily cycle counts to keep inventory accurate.
• Check off inbound trucks and verify materials as they arrive.
• Receive and inspect LTL shipments and vendor deliveries.
• Help coordinate and dispatch loads when Warehouse Manager is unavailable.
• Conduct new hire orientation for warehouse workers and drivers.

• Keep warehouse materials organized, including:

• Drywall
• Metal
• Ceiling tile
• Grid
• Insulation

• Help load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Track and enter employee stocking.
• Learn and work within our new financial system.
• Assist customers with loading materials.
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized at all times.
• Step in wherever needed to keep operations moving.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in warehouse operations, preferably in building materials, lumber, drywall, or construction supply .
• Leadership experience or someone ready to step up into leadership.
• Strong knowledge of loading, receiving, and inventory control.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Forklift experience is required.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to lead by example.
• Strong work ethics and team mentality.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work on your feet throughout the day.
