Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a paraprofessional in a vibrant, collaborative school setting. This role involves working closely with an experienced virtual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support a diverse caseload and make a positive difference in students' daily learning experiences.
Your schedule will offer work-life balance, averaging 28 hours per week across 4–5 days, from August 12, 2026, through May 20, 2027. You'll play an integral part in fostering student growth and providing hands-on assistance during classroom activities, therapy sessions, and individualized support under the guidance of teaching and therapy staff.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, preferably within an elementary educational environment
- Strong communication skills and an approachable, student-centered demeanor
- Flexibility to adjust to varying caseloads and work collaboratively with both in-person and virtual team members
- Ability to follow directions from special education staff and support students with diverse needs
- Familiarity with promoting inclusive, positive classroom climates
- Adaptability for supporting virtual SLP sessions and communicating progress to staff and families as needed
Role Responsibilities:
- Support elementary students in small-group and one-on-one settings
- Help facilitate speech therapy sessions guided by a virtual SLP
- Encourage student participation and support educational goals
- Provide classroom assistance and reinforce positive behaviors
- Collect and communicate student data to relevant staff members
