Staff Accountant POST NUMBER: 463980
Location: Birmingham, AL
Our client is looking for a detail-driven Corporate Accountant to join a collaborative and well-established accounting team. This new role was created due to internal growth and offers a strong opportunity to advance alongside leaders who prioritize professional development and long-term career progression.
What You’ll Do
- Support month-end and year-end close to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals and prepaid items
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple entities
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate variances
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain supporting documentation
- Assist with consolidations and elimination entries
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting questions and support operations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Support audits through schedule preparation and documentation
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or multi-entity environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi or similar ERP systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
