Deli Employee – Job Description
Position Summary
Deli employees prepare food, serve customers, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. This role supports daily operations by ensuring quality, speed, and friendly service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare sandwiches, salads, sides, and other deli menu items according to recipes and portion standards
Provide fast, friendly customer service at the counter and register
Keep prep areas, equipment, and the deli case clean and stocked
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and temperature‑control procedures
Label, date, and rotate products to maintain freshness and shelf life
Restock ingredients, paper goods, and supplies throughout the shift
Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
Communicate low stock, equipment issues, or customer concerns to management
Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Basic food‑handling and sanitation knowledge
Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
