About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to join their Executive Leadership team. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader responsible for ensuring the safety, environmental soundness, and regulatory compliance of all EHS programs and processes. This role is pivotal in driving the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of EHS management systems across the organization. The VP will also be tasked with fostering a strong safety culture, leading the EHS and Biosafety group, and collaborating with various functions to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering field with at least 10 years of experience in EHS programs, or a Bachelor's/Master's degree with at least 15 years of experience. A minimum of 10 years in high biological containment environments is required, along with a proven track record of driving organization-wide safety culture change. The role demands in-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, and ANSI standards, and experience in areas such as hazardous waste management, air monitoring, and safety programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work with individuals at all levels and be prepared to be on call 24/7. Preferred qualifications include safety and risk management certifications, and experience with high-containment laboratory operations and select agent regulations.
