Senior Structural Engineer (level 3)
Location: Birmingham, Alabama Type: 3 year Contract
Compensation: $63 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid System One is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (level 3) on a 3 year contract position located in Birmingham, AL. Structural Engineer Responsibilities:
- Provide structural engineering services and field support
- Conduct preparation of designs and calculations
- Conduct site walk downs of construction sites
- Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs
- Provide schedule and staffing input for projects
- Produce and check structural steel design calculations and drawings
- 30+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience or accredited bachelor’s & master’s degree in engineering and professional engineering license.
- Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies
- Significant structural steel connection design experience
- Proficiency with structural codes and standards
- Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components
- Strong computer skills - proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO
- Proficiency with OSHA regulations
- Able to coordinate and manage multiple large scale, multi-discipline projects
- Able to perform structural inspections and provide written report
- Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
