Key Responsibilities:
Lead laboratory and pilot-scale projects focused on developing new polymer-coated products, innovative coating technologies, and improvements to existing chemical manufacturing processes.
Formulate and conduct experiments using coated fertilizer products and polymer coatings with agricultural additives (e.g., insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, fillers, micronutrients, amendments, stimulants, and growth regulators).
Direct, coordinate, or advise scientific and technical personnel on test procedures and analysis of physical properties of materials and products.
Develop new products and production methods to enhance performance and efficiency.
Analyze compounds and products using scientific instrumentation to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, and reactivity.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical reports, patent applications, safety materials, and product formulation records.
Collect, organize, analyze, and communicate experimental data and project outcomes effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and work independently under the guidance of a group leader to design and execute product development programs.
Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and identifying process improvements.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with protocols.
Demonstrate proficiency with manufacturing equipment, process design, and operational functionality.
Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word to plan experiments, manage data, and summarize results.
Develop a strong working knowledge of laboratory, pilot plant, and full-scale plant operating procedures
Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering or chemistry preferred.
Other technical degrees will be considered, including mechanical engineering and physics.
Work Experience:
1–5 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
Experience with polyurethanes is highly preferred.
Industrial experience in a chemical manufacturing or production environment is strongly preferred.
Background in polymer chemistry, chemical plant operations, and data analysis is desirable.
