Software Engineer (Manufacturing)
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer with significant experience in a manufacturing environment to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in software development, automation, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. The primary responsibilities include upgrading our technology infrastructure, automating various aspects of our company, and providing support in projections, workflow management, and live job tracking. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Job Boss software is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Upgrade and Integration:
- Assess the existing technology infrastructure and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to upgrade and integrate new technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Automation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation within manufacturing processes.
- Design, develop, and implement automated solutions to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
- Excel and Job Boss Expertise:
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze data, create reports, and support decision-making processes.
- Leverage Job Boss software to optimize job tracking, production scheduling, and resource management.
- Projections and Workflow Optimization:
- Work closely with management to develop accurate projections for manufacturing output and resource requirements.
- Optimize workflow processes to ensure a smooth and efficient production cycle.
- Live Job Tracking:
- Implement systems for real-time job tracking and monitoring.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into the status of ongoing projects.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with different departments to understand their needs and challenges.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless integration of software solutions.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training to staff on new technologies and software implementations.
- Offer ongoing support to troubleshoot issues and optimize system usage.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall business operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on manufacturing systems.
- Proficiency in Excel and hands-on experience with Job Boss software.
- Strong programming skills, preferably in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Familiarity with automation technologies and Industry 4.0 concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
