Location: Huntsville, AL
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite (Closed Area Environment)
Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Clearance
Travel: Up to 10%

Position Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineer II to support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Fire Control team. This role will focus on requirements management, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), system architecture development, and systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with DOORS and Cameo, developing systems engineering artifacts, and supporting complex defense programs in a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Support systems engineering activities throughout the system development lifecycle
• Develop, analyze, and maintain system requirements and associated traceability
• Create and maintain MBSE models using Cameo
• Support architecture development, requirements decomposition, and system analysis efforts
• Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts and technical documentation
• Participate in technical reviews, design discussions, and engineering assessments
• Collaborate with software, test, and systems engineering teams to ensure requirements are properly implemented and verified
• Support customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of related experience; OR
• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0–2 years of related experience
• Active, in-scope DoD Secret security clearance
• Experience with requirements management using DOORS
• Experience with Cameo and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
• Ability to support a full-time onsite, closed-area work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program
• Experience with Battle Management or Fire Control systems
• Experience applying systems engineering principles throughout the Systems Engineering “V” lifecycle
• Experience with software development and requirements verification
• MBSE and/or INCOSE certifications
• Experience developing systems engineering artifacts such as:
  • Specifications
  • Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Use Cases
  • System Architecture Descriptions
  • Trade Studies
  • Technical Design Documentation
