Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available for the entire 2025-2026 school year at a K-12 educational setting located in Athens, AL. This contract role involves supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade by facilitating effective communication through American Sign Language (ASL).

Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Sign Language interpreting, specifically for K-12 educational environments
• Experience working with children and adolescents across various grade levels
• Ability to manage a full caseload while maintaining high standards of communication support
• Strong collaboration skills to work alongside educators, students, and families

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa for K-12 students
• Support classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, and other school-related events
• Ensure clear and accurate communication to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to accommodate student needs and facilitate learning
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in all interactions
