Salary:
FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000 per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.
Your Responsibilities:
FUCHS Specialty Division is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver field‑based technical services that enhance customer performance and support Sales Engineers. The Field Service Engineer will report to the Manager of Business Segments within the FUCHS Specialty Division.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct engineering and lubrication surveys to identify improvement opportunities and provide lubricant consolidation recommendations to Sales Engineers and customers.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers to develop customer proposals that demonstrate measurable benefits based on actual operating conditions, including 5S implementation.
- Support the implementation and rollout of lubrication programs at customer sites.
- Execute open gear inspections (OGIs) and reconditioning services, providing detailed reports with actionable maintenance recommendations.
- Conduct detailed lubrication audits, as required, to assess customer compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and recommend actions to meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop performance documentation and case studies that clearly demonstrate the value and results delivered to customers.
- Execute preventive maintenance activities, including temperature measurements, vibration analysis, and oil analysis.
Travel:
- 60-80% national travel required.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred; a degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- 5+ years of field service or maintenance experience, ideally within specialty lubricants or related industries such as food, cement, or packaging; basic understanding of lubrication technology, electrical equipment, industrial processes, and heavy machinery is a plus.
- Condition monitoring experience preferred.
- Ability to prepare clear, well‑structured technical reports for customer presentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer consulting capabilities.
- Initiative, engagement, determination, persistence as well as ability to work in a team environment and individually
- High level safety and health awareness
- Excellent attention to detail, with a high degree of follow-through
- Ability to travel frequently on short notice.
