As a Full-Time Senior Accountant at National Security Insurance in Elba, AL, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. Your responsibilities will include performing general cost accounting, preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements, and maintaining the general ledger. You will be tasked with coding invoices, setting up new accounts, and reconciling various financial accounts, including bank, cash disbursement, and accounts receivable collections. Additionally, you will ensure the accuracy of accounts payable by verifying payments and managing appropriate account charges.

Assisting outside auditors during annual audits, filing tax forms, and coordinating with software vendors to enhance our accounting systems are also key components of this role. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer, as well as the ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

To excel as a Full-Time Senior Accountant at National Security Insurance, candidates must possess a keen understanding of general financial and cost accounting principles while adhering closely to generally accepted accounting practices. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential for accurately preparing balance sheets, income statements, and tax reports. Excellent verbal and written communication skills will foster effective collaboration with team members and facilitate interactions with external auditors and banks. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience preferred.
