Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1+ years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Huntsville, AL is seeking a qualified Behavior Specialist for a contract position throughout the upcoming school year. This role focuses on supporting students with behavioral needs by applying evidence-based strategies that promote positive outcomes in the educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct functional behavior assessments to identify the underlying causes of behavioral challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans in collaboration with teachers and support staff.
• Provide direct support and coaching to students demonstrating challenging behaviors.
• Train and guide school personnel on behavior management techniques and best practices.
• Monitor and document student progress and adjust plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to promote consistency and effectiveness across settings.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a school setting with K-12 students.
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is required.
• Strong understanding of behavior analysis principles and ability to apply them in educational environments.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with diverse learners.
