Location: Mobile, AL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Compensation: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour (firm, based on experience)

Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Grossing Technologist to join our pathology team. This hands-on role is essential in supporting the preparation, handling, and processing of surgical specimens that aid in critical diagnostic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Accession and prepare surgical specimens for pathology review.
• Perform high-complexity testing in compliance with CLIA, CAP, and OSHA regulations.
• Assist pathologists during gross examinations and specimen cut-ins.
• Pick up and transport surgical specimens from the OR, GI Lab, and other hospital departments.
• Maintain the gross room, frozen section room, and cut-in stations to ensure accuracy, organization, and cleanliness.
• Manage inventory of grossing supplies and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Prepare and label placentas and other surgical specimens for pathologist review.
• Enter and maintain patient data accurately in the laboratory information system.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field (required).
• Meets CLIA high-complexity testing standards.
• HT or HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Strong manual dexterity, computer proficiency, and legible documentation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and initiative.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude.
