Director of Business Development (DME)

We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives for our Durable Medical Equipment (DME) organization. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on expanding market presence, developing new revenue streams, and building strong partnerships across the healthcare landscape.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive growth and profitability
• Identify new markets, services, and partnership opportunities within the DME and healthcare space
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to guide decision-making
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners, referral sources, and stakeholders
• Lead negotiations for contracts, partnerships, and expansion opportunities
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align growth strategies
• Drive initiatives that generate new revenue streams and enhance service offerings
• Oversee market research and evaluate emerging industry opportunities
• Partner with executive leadership to shape long-term strategic plans
• Track and report performance metrics (KPIs), risks, and growth opportunities
• Support DME accreditation efforts, training, and survey preparation
• Participate in leadership initiatives and ongoing professional development (including VGM training)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

Experience

• 7+ years in business development, sales, or strategic planning
• Proven track record of driving growth and closing high-value deals
• Experience in DME, healthcare, or related industry strongly preferred

Skills

• Strong negotiation and deal-closing expertise
• Strategic thinker with the ability to execute long-term growth plans
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Deep understanding of healthcare/DME market dynamics
• Data-driven decision-making and analytical skills

Requirements

• Previous experience in DME and/or strategic planning
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel as needed
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged sitting, computer use, and communication (phone/in-person)
• Ability to travel and operate a motor vehicle
