PURCHASING SPECIALIST (Must speak Korean)
AUBURN/OPELIKA, AL

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for implementing the Head of Departments direction of activities of all personnel assigned to the production area. The Supervisor should obtain the most efficient use of personnel and resources to meet Safety, Quality, Production, and Cost related goals.

Essential Functions:

• Forecasts upcoming demand
• Manages materials/subparts inventory to minimize out of stocks and maintains adequate inventory levels
• Managing lean inventory control while maintaining quick availability
• Delivers lowest total cost of ownership for materials managed
• Documents supply/demand/capacity balances, trends and issues
• Maintains supplier information on company database
• Works with ERP system in reviewing lead times, forecasts, trends, seasonality, etc.
• Handles miscellaneous vendor and freight correspondence
• Ensures all procurement transactions are processed in an efficient and timely manner
• Releasing Purchase Orders and receiving inventory from vendors
• Doing inventory counts at the end of every month
• Utilizing best practices of pricing/availability /supply capability
• Performs various administrative functions: new item set up, printing of shelf tags, creating of purchase orders, analyzing turns
• Meets subcontractors and suppliers on-site as necessary
• Interacts closely with production, sales, marketing and logistics
• Drives significant cost savings programs for materials & inventories managed
• Supports for inside sales and service staffs
• Reacts to material plans that do not meet customer requirements
• Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity
  - Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries
  - Intermediate Level of Using MS Excel: Using Lookup Formula
  

Education/Background/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years of purchasing experience
• Speaks Korean
• Requires 1 to 3 years of experience with quality; automotive field preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and analytical skills.
• Good presentation skills with proven leadership abilities.
• Computer literate skills including Excel and Word.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Must have good interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, to lead team members in a fair and consistent manner.

• Excellent communication skills to communicate with subcontractors, suppliers and clients
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Excellent computer skills and ERP software handling for managing projects
• Excellent MS Excel skills including lookup formula and Pivot table
• Excellent time management
• In—depth understanding of contracting and purchasing principles
• In-depth understanding of International Commercial Terms
• Maintain appropriate records pertaining to production team members
• Prepare investigative reports on issues in the production area.
• Coach and counsel team members, including corrective action for team members
