We are currently hiring for a Group Sales Manager , a key leadership role responsible for driving group business through proactive sales efforts, relationship-building, and strategic account management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the success of meetings and events at the Elevation Convening Center & Hotel while delivering exceptional service and creating lasting client partnerships.
Job Summary:
The Sales Manager will manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals (room night, average rate, room rental) are achieved or exceeded.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Move throughout the property to conduct site inspections. Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form, to previous, current, and potential clients.
- Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
- Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition reader boards to develop leads.
- Prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows as specified by the Corporate trade show attendance guide.
- Assist the supportive staff with the maintenance of sales files.
- Participate in the sales/catering department reader board program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare cost proposals.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required.
- Past hotel sales experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and sitting.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
